Chapter-4|Revelation of Amnesia

Steve looked up and replied, "Are you too tired, my lord? It's 1784."

Mark fell to the ground and said, "What! Did I 'Time Travel'?"

Steve looked at Mark. "My lord, are you okay? I'll go and call the royal doctor." Steve ran to call the royal doctor. Mark sat back up. "S-so I did time travel—but how is that possible? Wait, wait, wait. Let me summarize what happened. I went to Riven Shin to take my life, and I woke up in a forest near the old Qing village, was found by Steve, who happens to be my servant, and was taken to the king, who is my father. And now I have to live here?" Mark again fell to the ground. "I-I am done for."

Suddenly, Steve burst in. "My lord, are you okay? I have brought the royal doctor for you." An old man in his 50s entered.

"My lord, please lie down on your bed. I'll take a look," said the doctor.

Mark nodded and lay down on his bed. The bed was soft—softer than any furniture he had ever seen. Mark smiled a little and calmly lay down. "Doctor, what's your name?" asked Mark.

The doctor looked at him, confused. "What did you say, my lord?" asked the doctor.

Steve looked at the doctor, worried. "What happened, doctor? Is my lord okay?"

The doctor asked Steve to come outside. Steve nodded. "My lord, I'll be right back after having a conversation with the doctor about your condition."

Mark smiled. "Go ahead." Steve and the doctor exited the room. Mark smiled and rolled around. "What a soft bed. It must be filled with feathers or something." Mark was enjoying the bed, while on the other hand, Steve and the doctor were having a serious conversation.

Steve said, "Is my lord okay, doctor?"

The doctor replied, "Did something happen recently?"

Steve nodded. "One night, my lord had a fight with the king and queen and ran away from the palace. He didn't want to take me along, but I followed him anyway. I don't know where he suddenly ran off to. I kept looking for him for three days and found him in the forest near the village. He looked terribly tired and weakened."

The doctor nodded. "Steve, I think something terrible happened to him in the forest, causing him to lose his memory."

Steve fell to the ground. "My lord lost his memories? No wonder he asked, 'Who am I?' What do we do now, doctor?"

The doctor replied, "We need to help him regain his memory. Take him to the forest at the same time today. We'll see if he naturally regains it, or we'll have to use other methods."

Steve slowly got up. "Okay, doctor. But don't tell anyone other than the king, especially not the queen. She may get a shock."

The doctor nodded. "I'll write him some meds to regain his strength, but there's no artificial solution for his memory."

Steve nodded. "Thank you, doctor."

The doctor patted Steve. "I'll take my leave now. Take care, you two!"

Steve knocked on the door and entered the room. "My lord." Steve kneeled to him.

Mark, enjoying his bed, asked, "What happened, Steve? Am I okay?"

Steve started crying. "Why didn't you tell me, my lord?"

Mark, shocked, stood right up. "Steve, what happened? Why are you crying?"

Steve wiped his tears. "I have to stay strong to help my lord! My lord, you have lost your memory..."

Mark sat back down. "I thought it was something serious. Yeah, I know I have lost my memory."

Mark lightly whispered, "I have lost my life."
