THE FOLLOWING DAY...
Romeo and Marie were still determined to convince Annabelle that the move was a good decision for the family. They sat her down in the living room, and began to make her understand.
"Baby, I promise you, you are going to love this new place," Romeo said, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. "It's a beautiful town, with a great school and lots of new friends to make. You'll have so much fun exploring and discovering all the new things it has to offer."
Annabelle crossed her arms, her face set in a stubborn expression. "I don't want to leave my friends and school," she said, her voice firm. "I like it here. Why do we have to move?"
Marie reached out and took Annabelle's hand, her voice soft and gentle. "Sweetie, we have to move because it's not safe for us here. The Maranzanos are getting too close, and we need to get away from them. But this new place, it's a fresh start for us. We'll be safe, and we'll be happy. I promise."
