New York!

Regina's eyes widened in shock, her eyebrows shooting up in a dramatic arc as her gaze froze, " Eric, isn't that good news? I'm sure your sister would be very happy to heart that. " She assured with a soft smile, but she knew the reason why he was hesitant to tell her.

It was unlike Eric not to disclose any sort of information to either of them. He was Afraid that his sister would be very sad upon hearing that he would be attending a higher class from the next school session, or she wouldn't be pleased to hear that he'd already surpassed her and make her feel inferior.

" Mother, I don't want to attend a different class from Diane. She'll be sad if she finds out. " He rubbed his tiny and slender fingers together and sighed.

Regina's face lit up a little with a warm, tender smile as she gazed at her son, her eyes shining with delight and pride. His considerate attitude, though simple, touched her heart deeply, revealing a maturity beyond his five years.

As she looked at him, her lips curved upward, and her cheeks softened, radiating a sense of joy and love. Her smile was a reflection of her son's sweet nature, a sign to the affectionate and thoughtful person he was growing up to be.

She was happy that she could at least have a taste of what is like to love and to be loved. Back when she was still living with her parents in New York, her entire life had been nothing but hate from the people she cared about, well, apart from her friends.

Her eyes crinkled at the corners, and her eyebrows rose slightly, as if to say, "You're such a sweet boy!" Her smile was a gentle, loving acknowledgment of his kind heart, a heart that already knew how to show love and care to those around him, especially to her and his twin sister.

In that moment, Regina's smile was a celebration of her son's innocence, his pure and unconditional love, and his capacity to bring happiness to those around him. She was grateful to be his mother, to witness his growth, and to receive his affection, which filled her heart with warmth and contentment.

" Don't worry, my dear. I'm sure your sister would be happy about it too. It's fine, you can share this good new with her. You're developing to be a really strong boy, my love. " She poked his nose and smiled at him.

Eric felt his heart sunk. He knew his mother would say something like this. He folded his fists nervously. " Are you sure?" He asked with a sad tone.

" Yes, my dear. Now cheer up. " Her hand stroked his short and amazingly white hair with a smile etched on her face. He looked so much like him...

" Ba-dam! " Diane burst in with a wide grin and threw her arms up happily. " I'm sorry, mom, you can scold me later." She flipped her hair backwards and winked.

Eric's eyes widened. Had she heard the whole thing? Why was her mood so bright?

" Tsk tsk tsk " Diane shook her head disapprovingly. " How could you do this to me, Eric?" She placed her hands on both side of her hips and tilted her head to the side copying is habit.

" Wh-what do you mean?" Eric asked and tried to avoid her lingering gaze on him.

" You still dare to act innocent?" She held her chest tightly and held her head dramatically. " I head everything, and I'm very sad. " She pouted and tears started to form in her eyes.

Eric gasped mad quickly got up from the huge bed and ran towards her. Placing his hands on her shoulders, he heaved a huge sigh. " I promise, I was never planning on doing it , believe me, Diane." But what she did next totally left him stunned.

Diane smiled as the tears rolled down her cheeks gracefully. " Come here, you dummy. " She wrapped her arms around him tightly. '' That's such grate news, and you wanted to hide it from me. "

" N-no, I " Eric was left looking stunned, and he hugged her back.

" So you think I would be sad? That means you think I won't be happy if you are better than me, right?" She asked innocently about pulling from the hug.

" No, that's not true, I'm not better than you. You're much more better than me, Diane. I just thought you'd be sad if I left you all alone. " He pressed his lips into a thin line.

" Liar." She sobbed and hugged him tightly. " I caught youa admitting it. I'm not that stupid, you know." She withdrew from the hug and sniffed back her tears.

" I'm sorry, I promise not to do that ever again, Diane. I'll try to be the best brother and take care of you properly. So i won't take the offer and remain in the same class as you. " He declared with a cheerful smile.

Regina wanted to interfere, but she held back and watched with interest.

" I'm fine on my own. Thank you. " Diane pouted and looked away. " Take the offer or I'll be mad."

Eric looked puzzled. " Diane... " His eyes widened.

" So, do you want me to be mad?" She asked and cleaned her face with her little

Eric paused afor a moment with a puzzled look, then smiled proudly at her. She could be so full of surprises. The sudden mood swing. " Fine, I won't be refusing the offer. " He smiled cheerfully at her and scratched the back of his head.

Their school was indeed a big deal with people of high status and reputation, but rankings also mattered. Since their mother was quite a mystery and they seemed to have no father, they were looked down upon by the others. And by looked down, they were pitied and seen as ' those poor kids' not ' poor poor,' but you yet the idea.

Eric was a boy whom everyone was attracted to at first glance, due to his demeanor and looks. Diane was also very popular, they looked identical after all.

The difference between the two was their characters and social status. Diane is a very brilliant kid, with a sharp wit and clever mind. She was exceptionally beautiful just like her brother, but was an extrovert. Although she was no where close when it came to beating Eric academically.

Eric was the quiet and introverted type with a calm demeanor and a mature attitude. He loved spending time with books and was only free around his mother and sister.

" Good! We have to celebrate, mommy!" Diane smiled and jumped up with an excited squeal.

" It's not necessary, mother. I know you're busy and — " Eric scratched the back of his head nervously as he spoke, but was cut off by his mother.

" Fine, we'll celebrate this. " She chuckled. " Maybe with a vacation?"

" Yessss!! " Diane grinned. " Don't be a party pooper, Eric. " She giggled and wiggled her brows.

" Okay. If it won't stress mother. " He tried to suppress his excitement. Of course, he also wanted to go out with his mother and sister, he was just a kid too.

" Where do you think it's Okie for us to visit during the summer break, mommy? I wanna go to New York!"
