CHAPTER 19 An Alpha Has to Protect His Mate

  Kassandra's POV

I look at her sternly, can't hide that I am annoyed.

But I refrain from being rude. It's her duty to report everything to their so-called Alpha.

I don't have to throw her backlash.

  "I'm sorry, Madame- "

I sighed before smiling a little. "It's okay. Thank you for the water."

After minutes of a peaceful dinner, the loud bang of the door made everyone around me tremble.

My eyes roll upward as I take my last slice of steak.

The Alpha is here. I mimicked inside my head.

  "Where is the Luna?!"

After a few seconds, he's already inside the kitchen.

I am looking at the sky while chewing my food.

  "What happened, Kassandra?!"

My forehead furrowed, looking at him sideways. "Can't you stop screaming?"

Clayden stands next to me and pushes me on my left shoulder. My eyes widened when he scooted the chair and bent over to my already bruised knee.

  I blink thrice. "C-Clayden, I'm fine," I murmured.
