Kassandra's POV
The head servant, concerned about Monica, wailed agonizingly, "She fell down the stairs, Alpha!"
As I slouched on the ground, my breathing was still rapid and erratic, and I was unsure of how to respond.
Though I know I shouldn't be irritated by everyone's concern for Monica, I can't help but sneer at the sight of these folks freaking out about a leg injury.
Damn, Kassandra. I mumbled to myself after that thought.
It's not me anymore. My emotions are clouding my thoughts -that I almost forget to be thankful for Monica saving me from falling.
I was supposed to be the one on that floor!
"Kassandra!"
Jax beckoned me, and I turned to face him.
I let out a big sigh in relief that someone had, at last, noticed me.
I saw how Clayden looked at me, realizing that I was there-that I was the one he found on the floor earlier, but he swiftly changed his course toward the injured wolf next to me.
I should not feel bad.
