CHAPTER 97 Support

  Kassandra's POV

Handing her a glass, I took a seat beside her, a mix of curiosity and apprehension lingering in my mind. "So, what's the occasion for this little gathering?" I asked, taking a sip of my already lukewarm iced coffee.

Lynette's expression turned serious for a moment before she spoke. "Mom and Dad again" She plainly muttered, sipping her beer.

As Lynette and I settled on the couch, the weight of her words hung in the air. It was evident that she carried a burden within her, and my heart went out to her. I reached out and placed a comforting hand on her arm.

"Ly, I'm here for you. You know that, right?" I said softly, my voice filled with empathy.

She nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. "I know, Kass. And I appreciate it more than you can imagine. It's just...my family, you know? They're supposed to be the ones who provide stability and support, but lately, it feels like everything is falling apart."
