Clayden's POV
The cityscape blurred as I sped through the streets, my mind filled with a tumult of emotions and unanswered questions. The hunt for Jax, the traitor who had orchestrated so much chaos within my pack, was far from over. Yet, an inexplicable pull drew me back to the city, urging me to seek solace amidst the familiar surroundings.
My phone rang in the middle of my driving so I immediately connected it to my car's speaker. Jarred's voice filled the air as I step on the brake when the red light glistened.
"News?"
"Should I consider looking for a lot that Jax failed to do?" He asked, referring to that task I asked Jax months ago.
But the asshole didn't show up with a promising land to offer from the estate agent but a never forgiving treachery instead.
"Let's pause it for now."
"A-Alright. Where are you now, Alpha?"
I sighed. "City. The woods suffocates me for the past few weeks. Besides, I have to check on my office anyway."
