CHAPTER 17 Safety

  Solaine's POV

  That was about as shocking as a feather gently brushing against my skin. I can already envision them treating me like a lowly maid, expecting me to cater to their every whim. I stride purposefully, leaving them behind in my wake. I can't bear to witness their passionate embrace while my own existence crumbles into despair.

  I step into my humble abode, the familiar scent of home enveloping me. With purposeful determination, I begin the task of carefully gathering and organizing my belongings, each item holding a story of its own.

  "Where are you off to?" Axel's voice trembled with anticipation as he asked.

  "I'm going to make my daring escape," I declared, my heart pounding as I meticulously prepared for the audacious plan ahead.

  "Wow, no shit," he exclaimed. "You simply cannot do it at this very moment," he added, his voice tinged with a hint of finality.

  I swiftly pivoted my body, fixing my gaze upon him. "Why?" I asked with curiosity.
