Lewis' POV
"Come to my office now."
When I received a mental link from my father, I was in my private study, finishing the task that Alfie had given me. I could tell he was clearly angry based on his tone. I thought back to my recent behavior but couldn't think of anything that I could've done to make him angry.
Feeling uneasy, I went to my father's office. After taking a deep breath, I pushed open the tightly closed brown wolf-patterned door. Just as I opened the door, a glass flew past my cheek and smashed hard against the door. A few drops of hot tea splashed onto my nose and eyelids.
"You promised that Lottie would agree to your proposal!" With his angry roar, a letter was thrown in front of me.
I didn't have extra energy to think about what he meant. All my energy was focused on restraining my trembling hands. My father hated it when I showed cowardice in front of him.
