CHAPTER 57 Meeting His Parents

  ANNA'S POV

"So shall we leave?" he asked me.

I nodded and brought out my small suitcase.

He helped me with the suitcase while I entered the car and waited for him.

He drove to the airport where he had prepared his private jet to take us there.

We got on the jet and took off. The flight was about an hour long, and the whole time I felt the tension in the air. We didn't say much, just shared a few polite words. I could tell that David was preoccupied with his thoughts, so I tried to give him some space.

Finally, we started to descend, and I saw a sprawling mansion come into view. "That's it," David said, his voice still tense. "My parents' house."

I swallowed hard, suddenly feeling very nervous. "Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked, looking at me.

  I nodded.

"Well… there's no going back now."

I took a deep breath and gathered my courage. "Let's do this."
