CHAPTER 17 Elsie

  Wren's POV

I was moved and looked away. "We'll see."

He was still the same, smiled after hearing my answer, and said, "Remember to keep your phone on and watch for texts."

I walked ahead and left the amusement park, saying coldly, "My phone can't receive texts from unknown numbers."

  "No need to lie, Wren."

Without saying anything else, I got into my father's car on the side of the road and went back to my pack.

My mother seemed to have been waiting at home for me to return. As soon as I pushed the door open, she hugged me and said, "Wren, baby, how are you feeling? Did you have fun this time?"

"Much better, Mom. This time..." I paused for a moment. "It was okay."

She patted my back. "That's good."

We had a delicious dinner together as a family. My father and mother freed up their time once again and watched a movie with me after dinner.
