CHAPTER 46

"Don't be afraid; myself and my men will make sure nothing bad happens to you and Lara," General Gabriel replied as I shifted my head to gaze at his face.

We were both in the passenger seat of the automobile and had been driving for, who knows, how long. The drive to the isolated field was taking longer than intended, giving me a chance for doubt and remorse.

  "Huh?"

"I'll make sure to protect Luna with my life and your sister as well," he said.

His eyes were darkened, and his gaze was fixed on the road before him while the driver drove. I could feel his muscles being tensed, and the aura that came from him was one filled with determination and anger, almost the same type of anger Terran felt in the room.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked, and it was obvious that this was way more than a duty or obligation to him.

"I'm under the command of my Alpha," he answered.

  "That's not all to it."
