CHAPTER 8 Promise

  Cynthia's POV

"I returned to the basement after leaving Alpha Logan's room, where I had prepared various herbs in advance. I was ready to face the wrath of Sandra or Nancy, but surprisingly, neither of them came to confront me. It wasn't until the evening that someone knocked on my door, and to my surprise, it was Alpha Aiden, who had never visited before.

"This is so weird..." I muttered. "What do you want?" I asked with a less than friendly tone.

"Cyn, let's talk," Alpha Aiden said in an uncharacteristically calm voice.

"Don't call me Cyn! Don't do that. Don't act like we're close because we're not. You made sure of that," I retorted. Despite my words of disgust, I couldn't deny the slight joy I felt in my heart. But it only lasted for a moment. He was only here because he wanted something.

I gestured for him to come in and sat down to listen to what he had to say. As he entered the basement, he took a long look around at MY living quarters and then fell silent.
