Cynthia's POV
"I know, and I don't care about her gratitude," I replied with a shrug.
To avoid Nancy lashing out at me again, Logan had someone administer sleeping pills to her. Once she was unconscious, I took her to Aiden, who had been waiting outside the packhouse.
"I gave her some sleeping pills," I explained before he could speak.
"This is a thank you for speaking up for me yesterday. We're now even," I said with a cold tone.
As we parted ways, I realized that this might be the last time we would ever meet, unless something unexpected happened."
"Thank you, Cynthia. I will make sure she won't bother you again," Aiden said. He looked like he wanted to say something else, but I didn't give him a chance and walked away.
