CHAPTER 10 Broken Glass

  Celeste's POV

It was the day that I despised.

  Grocery shopping day.

At least it was a pleasant day, and the rain had finally stopped. I broke out my favourite Summer dress, a white linen with a small cherry print, at least my outfit improved my mood.

Heading down the street, my shopping bags in hand I noticed the hustle and bustle of the people around me. It was a nice sense of normality at this moment. Just myself doing an everyday chore with citizens who were out doing the same. A smile spread on my face and I inhaled a breath of the warm air.

  Bliss.

It was then I stopped in my tracks and saw the familiar sight of Amara standing in the middle of the sidewalk, her gaze centred on me. Her eyes appeared red and puffy, as though she had been crying.

Making my way toward Amara, my current mood uplifting I decided to try and be civil. I didn't want this day ruined for me.
