CHAPTER 23 Because I Loved Her

  Celeste's POV

My heart raced in my chest as I stood inside the house which haunted my childhood. The tortured memories flooded back, a cold shiver ran through my body.

"Wait here," Nathaniel said as he kissed the side of my head "I'll let them know you're here,"

Nodding, I took my gaze around the house once more, studying the Gothic decor. The framed photos which hung around the walls, none of me. But why would there be, I hadn't remembered any on display when I lived there. There were plenty of Nathaniel and Savannah at various ages, a gallery of their upbringing and different stages of their lives. From their first day at pre school, to graduation.

Nathaniel appeared from the doorway he had disappeared into, he gestured to me to walk toward him. I took a deep breath and made my way to where he stood. Taking my hand, my brother was as supportive as ever, he led me into the dining room.
