CHAPTER 47

  Kara

  I vomited. I felt ashamed because Sara was looking at me with a smile. She enjoyed seeing me in distress. But her smile disappeared when Stefan got out of the car and held my hair to keep it from getting dirty. I felt Stefan stroke my back, showing his support.

  "Relax, you'll be fine," he reassured.

  "I feel so bad, Stefan," I admitted. "The dizziness is killing me. I feel like everything is spinning."

  Sara got out of the car. That damn woman was doing this on purpose.

  "Kara, honey! Are you feeling unwell?" She pretended to be nice to me. The tone of her voice irritated me.

  "What do you think?" I replied brusquely.

  "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I want to help you, Kara," Sara responded.

  "Calm down, Kara," Stefan advised. "Getting nervous won't help you."

  "I'm nervous because she's here," I muttered.

  Sara pretended not to hear me, but I noticed she smiled. Stefan chose not to respond.
