CHAPTER 153

  Kara

I wanted to say something. I wanted to say so many things. But I preferred to respect his decision. The trip home was completely uncomfortable. I almost fell asleep on the journey because I felt so tired. When I fell asleep, Derek woke me up. I looked ahead of us. We had arrived home. I knew the conversation would come. I got out of the car after Derek. He parked the car in the garage, and I waited for him in the living room. Derek took a few minutes, but those minutes felt eternal. I received a message from Stefan asking me to tell him what happened with Derek. I ignored the message because I didn't want to talk to him or think about what we did. I searched my mind for the right words to talk to my boyfriend. But I couldn't find them.

Derek returned to the house and sat in front of me on the sofa. He looked at me exhausted and with tears in his eyes. But he didn't cry.

  "You hate me," I affirmed.

  "I don't hate you."

"Yes, you hate me. I can see it in your eyes."
