CHAPTER 45 Treated her badly

Caesar rushed Grace to her office, his heart pounding with worry, and immediately began attending to her wounds. Grace sat quietly, her face reflecting a mix of pain and confusion.

“You'll be fine, I promise,” Caesar softly muttered reassuring words as he carefully bandaged her head and offered her some painkillers to ease her discomfort. The silence between them was filled with an unspoken understanding.

“The doctor is on his way,” Caesar said as he discarded the used cotton and watched Grace gulp down some painkillers.

“I-it's okay, I'm fine,” Grace mumbled and attempted to stand, but Caesar rushed to stop her.

“You are not well…stay,” he whispered as he placed his hand on her shoulder. His closeness made Grace feel and, clearing her throat, she shrugged his hand away.
