CHAPTER 53 A Mother's Anguish

As Caesar paced the sterile hospital corridor, his heart heavy with worry, he could hear the distant sound of sirens and the frantic footsteps of hospital staff. Stella had been rushed into the emergency room, her small body pale and fragile, her life hanging in the balance.

"P-please save her… I'll do anything easy," Caesar pleaded with the doctors. The sight of Stella's bloodied form had sent shockwaves of fear and helplessness through him, and he had acted on instinct, scooping her up in his arms and racing to the nearest hospital. But as he stood there, waiting for any news of her condition, he couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that gnawed at his soul.

"Sir, she'll be fine," Jack tried to comfort his boss. He had never seen him so helpless before. Truly, his boss was attached to the little girl.
