CHAPTER 82 A business trip?

  After a smooth dinner, Oliver led Emma to the private lounge, where they were served drinks. Oliver perched on the armrest of a chair, while Emma stood by the window, admiring the view outside. The silence hung between them until Oliver cleared his throat.

  "I'm glad my dad liked you," Oliver said, breaking the silence. Emma remained silent, her thoughts swirling in her mind. Oliver continued,

  "You shouldn't worry about anything. I'll take care of everything." He knew his old man too well, and the fact that Emma was Grace's friend made his marriage even more believable. Emma let out a sigh and turned to face Oliver. She nodded and sat down, her mind filled with apprehension. Oliver noticed her silence and asked,

  "What's wrong?" This time Oliver was concerned, was she thinking of backing out now that everything was going according to plans? Emma forced a smile as she took a sip of wine and shook her head.
