  Lounging on the plush sofa in the penthouse, my gaze fixated on the vast expanse of the sky, its serenity a stark contrast to the tempest raging within me. Thoughts of Jade Evans, the enigmatic woman who had abruptly vanished without a word, continued their relentless grip on my mind, refusing to fade as the day slipped away.
