CHAPTER 50 I Can't Believe You

  I didn't know why I complied with Frank's request to come downstairs.

  Maybe I was just too exhausted to put up a fight? Once again, I couldn't say for sure.

  And so, there we were, in the church, all of us, praying for Dad before I led the way to the cemetery, with the others trailing behind me. I didn't want anyone to witness my tears, but it seemed like these people, especially the brothers, had no intention of leaving me alone.

  I placed flowers on his grave before kneeling before it, tears streaming down my cheeks and my breath coming in ragged sobs.

  "Hey, Dad," I whispered, running my fingers over his grave, brushing away the dried leaves. "I've missed you. Have you missed me?"
