Jade
I stepped back into the office, my breaths coming in ragged pants, hands trembling with a mixture of emotions I couldn't quite articulate. Was it anger? Worry? Perhaps a toxic blend of both. But one thing was certain- it fucking gnawed at me in an insane manner, the thought of the twins with another woman, and the unsettling notion that she might be winning them over. It disturbed me to my core, relentless in its assault on my senses.
"Fuck, get it together, Jade," I hissed under my breath, feverishly organizing the files. There were still a few more meetings to get through, though thankfully unrelated to the deal with Jennifer's father's company. Oddly enough, the prospect of this slight reprieve only served to heighten my anxiety, leaving me seething with frustration, mostly directed inward. I'd never been so bothered with another woman's presence but today, I fucking was and it was stupid, fucking stupid.
