  Tears streamed down my cheeks unabated, betraying my efforts to maintain composure that was slowly slipping away from my grasp. Each salty droplet that slid down my cheeks seemed to mock my resolve, branding me with vulnerability I loathed to display, especially infront of the two men standing before me.

  "For lying to me, you fucking assholes!" I spat the words, letting my anger carve through the air like a blade.

  Devon's feigned confusion grated on my nerves, "When did we even lie? What are you talking about, Dove?" His attempt to wipe away my tears felt like an invasion, his touch repulsive against my skin, and I recoiled, "God, why are you crying?"

  "Don't you dare touch me, you jerk," I snapped, swatting his hand away with more force than necessary.
