  This question had become routine over the past seven days since we moved out. We were now staying in an apartment that had been a gift from their mom before she passed away. I knew this place held a special place in their hearts, and I was doing everything I could to make it feel like home. Even though they never made me feel inadequate, my overthinking tendencies kept whispering that I might not be successful enough and that, deep down, they might be feeling lonely and homesick. After all, they had spent their entire lives in that house, and being away from it could be really hard for them.

  I understood their feelings because I, too, had been away from home after my dad's death. The only difference was that I never had the chance to go back because it was destroyed. However, Devon and Chase, they still had a chance, and I wasn't going to stop them from holding onto it.
