I moved to the third floor, unknowingly. My movements hasty as I tried to unlock one of the rooms but it didn't work.
"God!" I hissed under my breath, trying to open the next one but it didn't open as well.
Fuck! I needed to hide, or else they'd catch me too soon because every part of me actually wanted to get caught.
But I couldn't hear their footsteps anymore. Could they be approaching from the other side so I'd bump into them directly?
Hell- the chances weren't slim. They were sly and full of deceit, and they could easily do that.
"Man, I need to hide- that'd be the smarter thing to do," I ran to the middle of the floor, my hand absentmindly, turned the knob of the door and the clicking sound sliced through the silence shrouding the entire floor.
