Chapter 18 Disco (1)

"Do you know where Li Li usually likes to go?" Ignoring the somewhat dazed expression of the girl, Ling Xi continued to ask.

If someone listened carefully, they might have heard the momentary solidification of Ling Xi's breath; however, to the still-dazed girl, it was impossible to detect any difference; after all, Ling Xi's speaking voice was cold enough already.

"Let me think." The girl hastily tilted her head, desperately trying to remember, because this was about her good friend Miaomiao, so she needed to remember quickly. She recalled Miaomiao had mentioned it once or twice before.

"Ah, I remember now," the girl exclaimed with surprise, "I recall Miaomiao saying that on the weekends, Li Li likes to go to Dihai Disco, and she doesn't return to the dormitory at night."

Li Li was not from Beijing, so if she didn't go home on weekends, she generally stayed at the school.

"Where is Dihai Disco?"

"About five kilometers away from the school on Pilly Road, there are many other discos, big and small, mixed together. It's a dangerous place, and a girl wouldn't dare to go there alone." Every time she passed by, she would walk very quickly! Fearing those local thugs might take an interest in her or cause trouble, that would really make her life uneasy.

"Hmm, I see," Ling Xi nodded.

It looked like that girl named Li Li, who didn't dare to cause trouble for her directly, had targeted people around her instead!

It seemed... she really had become impatient with living!

Looking at Ling Xi's calm yet coldly beautiful face, the girl's heart suddenly started pounding.

"Ling Xi, you're not thinking of going there, are you?" Miaomiao couldn't have been taken into that place by Li Li, could she? Oh my god! Miaomiao!

The girl instantly became worried.

She didn't speak anymore; because… the bell for class had already sounded, and the girl could only quietly take her seat, but throughout the class, her gaze couldn't help but drift over to Ling Xi.

Propping up her fair chin with one hand, Ling Xi sat quietly with her eyes closed, while the teacher's voice droned on incessantly.

...

After the last class ended, Ling Xi called Leng Yichen to tell him she was going shopping with classmates, asking him to go home first, and she would take a cab home later.

Leng Yichen initially wanted to accompany her, but Ling Xi said that it was no fun for a boy to hang around while girls were shopping, so there was nothing he could do but go home first.

Ah! Who could blame him for never being able to refuse any requests from his Little Xixi!

He really was an amazing brother!

However, if he knew where Ling Xi was going later, he might not be in the mood to feel so great about himself!

If the old man found out he hadn't properly protected Ling Xi, then he would truly be in for a punishment! There'd be no chance of feeling relaxed like now.

...

Putting down her phone, Ling Xi slung her bag over her shoulder and stood up to leave.

"Ling Xi, I'll go with you," the girl approached Ling Xi and said with a determined look.

Even though she was actually quite frightened, she was really worried about Miaomiao, and having two people go together could bolster their courage.

Looking at the girl's hand clutching the purse turning slightly pale, Ling Xi spoke indifferently, "I don't have the spare energy to protect you."

"It's okay, I will take care of myself, and I won't hold you back," the girl said resolutely.

Because no matter what, she had to go, since her longing to save Miaomiao was the same as Ling Xi's, even though she didn't seem to have that much ability.
