Chapter 12: The Ancestor's Words Came True

While Xia Xin was struggling to explain scientific concepts to Jiangli, Fu Shiyan and Wen Zishu were driving on the highway.

When Zishu caught a glimpse of his car window that wouldn't go up, he couldn't help but clench his back teeth, "This is my brand-new car, just shipped from abroad, and now it's turned into this..."

Wen Zishu felt like crying but had no tears.

This car had cost him over ten million, and now it's turned into this...

"That's right!" Wen Zishu, thinking of the culprit, couldn't help grinding his teeth, "Third bro, I remember, didn't that damn girl say she was from Jiaoyang Temple? I want her to pay for my car!"

Fu Shiyan sat in the back seat, holding a contract, didn't even raise his eyes when he heard this, but he couldn't help recalling what Jiangli had said.

What on earth did that young girl mean?

She seemed so earnest, it didn't seem like she was lying, could it be...

As Shiyan was thinking, out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly glimpsed a flash of red light, like a flame, at the edge of his field of vision.

He swiftly turned his head, only to see a car keeping pace with theirs on the side. The other car looked perfectly normal; there was nothing unusual about it.

But for some reason, Shiyan had clearly seen that red light.

"Third bro, I'm talking to you, did you hear me?" Wen Zishu saw that he hadn't been paying attention to him and felt extremely aggrieved; just as he was about to complain.

Fu Shiyan suddenly said in a low voice, "Stop the car."

Wen Zishu was startled, "Wha, what?"

"Stop, the car," Shiyan repeated each word distinctly.

Zishu didn't understand why, but still reflexively pressed the brake.

"No, Third bro, why the sudden stop? Is there something wrong?"

Shiyan stared at the car that had passed by them, "Zishu, did you feel something was off about that car up front?"

Zishu looked and said blankly, "What's wrong with it?"

Shiyan narrowed his eyes, "I saw a ball of fire at the tail of the car."

"Did you?" Wen Zishu widened his eyes and took a careful look at the rear of that car, "But there's obviously nothing at all..."

Shiyan's expression grew dark. Was he the only one who could see it?

In his eyes, there was indeed a hint of flame fluttering at the back of that car.

"Third bro, are you..."

Wen Zishu turned his head to look at Fu Shiyan, but before he could finish uttering "seeing things," he heard a "bang—"

An explosive sound suddenly erupted.

Wen Zishu was shaken, his ears ringing for a good while before he recovered, stiffly turned his head, and saw that the car that had driven ahead of them had exploded, about ten meters up the road...

Wen Zishu's eyes widened in shock, "Damn! Thi, Third bro, that car exploded!!!"

Fu Shiyan's eyes darkened as he stared at that car; suddenly, Jiangli's words echoed in his mind, warning to stay away from any source of fire—

Was that what she meant?

"If, if we hadn't stopped the car, we would definitely have been blown up too, right, Third bro!" Wen Zishu shouted in horror.

He was right in what he said.

The car that had been alongside them moments ago had been close in distance, and had they continued to drive as they were when it exploded, they surely would have also been affected by the blast.

Shiyan had already noticed that when the car exploded, the vehicles nearby and the pedestrians on the roadside were all affected, with several cars already destroyed.

The car that initially exploded was quickly engulfed in flames.

Seeing this, Fu Shiyan said in a deep voice, "Take a different road."

Wen Zishu nodded hurriedly; he didn't want to take this road anymore either!

This road was definitely impassable now!

Wen Zishu quickly floored the gas pedal, turning the corner onto another road.
