Chapter 458: The Manipulated Life

Lin Yaozu gradually understood the meaning of Lin Yurong's words.

To their parents, those three characters "Lin Yaozu" merely represented a symbol for continuing the family line.

It didn't matter whether it was him or not.

"You and I are alike, both of us have been manipulated by them," Lin Yurong said as she looked at Lin Yaozu. "Now I've broken free from them, and you have too. I hope you'll be well in the future."

Lin Yaozu's eyes hurt as he gripped the packet of candy so tightly it was nearly crushed.

Yet Lin Yurong's expression was the most relaxed it had ever been. She consoled Lin Yaozu for a few moments before saying, "I don't have much time left. I have to say goodbye to you now."

Lin Yaozu paused for a second, then cried even harder.

But Lin Yurong couldn't do anything more, nor did she offer any further comfort.

She sighed and, with a slight bow to Jiangli, asked, "Abbot, can we leave now?"

"Of course."
