Chapter 5: Faore Seat's (1)

The villagers emerged from their homes, unable to believe what they were seeing. They cheered for us. The four of us were puzzled; weren't they angry earlier because we were envoys of Deity 999?

An elder from the town appeared and congratulated us. He invited us into the town hall to review our mission letter.

"Ah yes, we did request help to defeat the dragon. But as you can see, we don't have much to offer as a reward," the old man said, stroking his beard.

"That's alright. I-instead, how about the Throne City of Faore switching to worship Deity 999?" I asked.

"That's a very sensitive topic. You could provoke a war with the fanatics of Deity 111," the elder replied. "For a long time, the majority of us have wanted to switch to Deity 999 because we were promised prosperity."

"But the fanatics of Deity 111 opposed it, causing riots and chaos," he added, directing us to sit by the town hall's fireplace.

"Don't you have an envoy of your own deity?" Kuti asked.

"He was killed and imprisoned by the fanatics," the elder replied. "Do you see that hill with the watchtower outside Throne City?"

We looked in the direction the elder pointed. There was a hill with a watchtower. "He's been imprisoned there. I don't remember how many years. The dragon you're here to defeat is also there."

"Alright. Where will we stay?" Kuti asked.

"In the town hall. It's the most suitable place for you as envoys and heroes," the elder replied.

"You know we're envoys of the deity?" Kuti asked.

"Yes. I can see it in your aura. Your two friends are just ordinary humans, but you two are demigods," the elder replied. "I apologize for our limited facilities."

The elder called a young boy to show us to our room. Our room was in the area of the ruined city fortress connected to the town hall. The stone walls made the place feel a bit cold, but fortunately, there was a lit fireplace in my and Kuti's room.

"Sorry, Atmaja, you'll be alone in your room this time. Kuti sulked yesterday when I left her," I apologized to Atmaja.

"It's alright. But I'll leave my luggage here. I promised to accompany the night guards. They've been kind to me now," Atmaja replied.

"Okay." I took his suitcase and placed it in our room.

Romanova moved her bed closer to the fireplace with Kuti's help. I organized our belongings in the available wardrobe and shelves. Kuti yawned widely. "I actually want to take a bath, but the bathroom here seems far away."

"I-I'll go with you," I said. "Let's wash off the sea salt and sweat."

"I'll come too," Romanova chimed in.

The three of us left our room and headed to the town hall. It was quiet, with only dim candlelight for illumination. We stepped outside and found the villagers working together to build a statue of Deity 999.

"Ah, envoys of the deity. Are we disturbing you?" asked a villager who noticed us.

"No. Have you already decided to switch deities?" Kuti asked. "Weren't you against it this morning?"

"Ah... those who caused the commotion this morning were the fanatics. They left the city as soon as the elders announced the change of deities," the villager replied.

"Oh, I see. Is there a bathhouse or something similar around here?" Kuti asked again.

"There isn't a bathhouse because our water pipes are damaged and never repaired. We always go to Faore Spring to wash," the villager replied. "But it's dangerous to go there at night because it's dark."

Hearing that, and feeling exhausted at the thought of fighting sirens again, we decided to return to our room. Romanova seemed to be looking for Atmaja. "Where's Atmaja?"

"M-maybe he's training the guards here. He seemed frustrated by their ineptitude earlier and decided to train them on the spot," I replied.

Kuti unlocked and opened the door to our room, then locked it again once the three of us were inside. She examined the surrounding walls and ventilation of the room. "This room is quite spacious. I'm curious about what the Kingdom of Faore used to be like. I mean, look at this stone; it's not cheap and was used to build the fortress."

"Yes," Romanova observed. "The civil war must have been intense enough to make the deity abandon them."

"If we investigate, it will surely take more than two weeks. We have a two-week timeframe," I interjected.

"Why two weeks?" Romanova asked.

Oh no, I forgot that only Kuti and I knew. I had to come up with another reason. "Our money supply. If we stay longer, I-I'll have to withdraw more from the bank. W-we always travel with just enough money."

"More than two weeks then." Kuti attacked and pushed me to the floor. She pinned my hands above me and licked my ear.

"!!!" Romanova was shocked by Kuti's behavior. She covered her eyes to avoid seeing. "Y-you're doing something indecent!"

"Do you want to join? I don't mind sharing," Kuti said, stripping off my upper clothes and kissing me.

"K-Kuti!" I struggled to break free. "What's gotten into you lately?"

"This trip feels like our honeymoon, doesn't it?" Kuti stripped off my lower clothes, leaving me naked. "This room is pretty soundproof."

"Come here, Romanova," Kuti grabbed Romanova's hand and pulled her closer to me. "By the way, dear, you once said we lacked an additional long-range magic attacker?"

"What about Romanova?" Kuti asked me. "So, Romanova, this is a man's body."

"And to satisfy myself," Kuti opened a small bag containing some medicine. "Hehe..."

Kuti forcibly opened my mouth and made me swallow a pill. A few minutes later, I began to feel sleepy and fell asleep. Before I lost consciousness, I saw a satisfied smile on Kuti's face. She invited Romanova to do something to my body.

In the morning, I woke up with a severe headache and found both of them naked and asleep beside me. I remembered what happened last night and hid under the blanket. Ah! I'm so embarrassed!
