Ch 229: I did not see or hear a thing

Suzie looked at her father, the only person who supported her during this mess. But her father quickly turned his head away from her as well.

Despite the shock, Suzie's resolve remained unshaken. She was not ready to give up.

'If I cannot go to grandmother, I will call her and ask her to get me. No one defies grandmother in this house, not even mother. I am sure everything will be fine soon.'

Dinner lasted quite a while, and Suzie quickly ate her plate before heading to her room.

She needed to be the first to finish her food so another family member would not follow her.

No one followed Suzie except the maid, who had been ordered to keep an eye on Suzie to ensure she did not break the curfew.

It was as if Suzie was being treated like a criminal, confined against her will. She was convinced that even real prisoners had more freedom than she did.
