Max watched Valerie as she looked around in disbelief. He had a proud grin plastered to hai face, and then, he asked,
"What do you think? Is it good?"
"Good? You bought me a freaking bookstore. All these books," she pointed at the rows and rows of shelves containing nothing but romance novels. "... You bought them. Wait, when did you have time to do this?"
"I just squeezed it in somehow." He said, shrugging his shoulders like it was no big deal but Valerie was actually touched.
Yeah, she wasn't very crazy about reading but she enjoyed it and enjoyed getting lost in the fantasy world.
When she told him she loved reading and he decided to read a few lines from one of her books just so he could portray the male lead in it, it was actually funny. But going as far as buying an entire bookstore filled with those types of books... Ah, it was no longer funny.
It was romantic.
She turned to Max, who was still waiting for her response.
