Not That Kind Of Relationship

Samantha's eyes grew as wide as the plates on the table, her face turning as white as a sheet. Her mind went completely blank, unable to distinguish between her confusion and the pressing reality. It felt as if she were submerged beneath ice-cold water, unable to breathe. Her heart pounded in her ears while her body stiffened like a rock.

She didn't know how long she remained in that stupor. At some point, Samantha finally began to see clearly again. As her eyes locked onto Jason's grinning face, the words left her mouth as if they didn't belong to her.

"What... What do you mean... it's in your house?"

The man let out a sinister laugh.

"You could never have expected this to happen, huh? Well, it was incredibly foolish of you to leave that baby with your drunkard boyfriend and hope that nothing would go wrong, Sam."

Seeing how Samantha was rendered speechless again, Jason decided to pour more salt into the wound and started explaining.
