Before violence could break out, Hal and several other men and women came out carrying large platters of food. They filled the head table first, before filling the other tables around them. Like Sir Lancelot had told Artie before, he served her first, making sure that every single food item he placed on her plate, as well as every drink she was poured, was safe.
It was a normal practise, Artie had to tell herself. She didn't need to worry about the others thinking it was weird. Her worries were soothed when no one batted an eye at his behaviour, and Artie avoided looking at his smug expression, still annoyed with him.
The conversation around the table wasn't as stunted as she had worried it was going to be. That was probably due to the fact that only the King had changed, nothing and non one else.
