You better not tell a soul

The mood was certainly on the mend, especially when Hal brought out the pretty good wine with a wink and a nod to Artie. The knights were beginning to get rowdy as the night progressed, but Artie knew she had a rather busy day ahead of her so she retired early.

Lady Guin joined her, which meant that Artie had Sir Lancelot as her escort back, and didn't need any of her previous escorts to join them. It was a small blessing, not because she didn't want them, but because it might give her the chance to interrogate the man.

While none of the men who had declared that they were going to start courting her in earnest once a crown was on her head got up or made any sudden movements, Artie could feel their gazes on her back as she left. They watched her like men starved, and Artie could feel her body tremble slightly.

She wasn't going to be having normal dreams for days to come.
