Azure Dragon Inheritance

Exhausted yet exhilarated, Ling Tian decided it was time to rest and reflect on his progress. Finding a secluded spot, he sat down to meditate and consolidate his gains.

As he did so, he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction.

The core zone of the forest had proven to be the perfect training ground for his growth, and he knew that even greater challenges awaited him in the future.

"Phew, these battles are really testing my limits" Ling Tian said, gripping his Tianwu Sword tightly.

"But this is not enough, I need to push myself harder. I can't waste my time in this tiny forest."

And so, with a heart as still as an ancient well, Ling Tian continued his journey, ready to face the next formidable foe that dared to cross his path.

Ling Tian continued his relentless training in the core zone of the forest for the next two months, facing increasingly powerful demonic beasts.

Each battle-honed his skills further, and he grew more adept at using his newly mastered techniques and the space-time cube's abilities.

Each day he faced new challenges.

He fought against the Stormwing Eagle, whose wind blades cut through the air with deadly precision.

Ling Tian countered with his Void Piercing Thrust and Heavenly Dragon Slash, slicing through the air to meet the eagle's attacks head-on.

Another formidable opponent was the Molten Rock Golem, a towering creature of stone and magma.

Ling Tian employed his Earthshaker Fist to shatter the golem's rocky armor and used his Ethereal Chains to bind its limbs, preventing it from unleashing its fiery wrath.

He killed it with his Heavenly Dragon Slash using his sword intent.

One random day, while exploring deeper into the core zone, Ling Tian encountered a Demonic Thunder Monkey at the peak of the Core Formation realm.

"It's the same bastard as I saw when I was ste- borrowing wine, looks like it's their leader. But he has thunder element now, did he mutate somehow?"

Ling Tian said with an astonished tone as he didn't expect to meet a beast of such caliber here.

This beast was unlike the one he had faced before, its speed and strength far surpassing anything he had previously encountered after getting reincarnated.

The monkey's fur crackled with electric energy, and its eyes burned with a malevolent intelligence.

The monkey looked at Ling Tian as if he was looking at an insect.

"Heh, You really think you are something huh?"

The battle began but due to such a major gap, Ling Tian was at a disadvantage.

The battle was fierce. Ling Tian used every technique at his disposal, but the monkey's relentless assault pushed him to the brink.

Its lightning-quick attacks left him with deep wounds, and his Void Shadow Steps and Heavenly Thunder Palm were barely enough to keep him alive.

"Dammit, this beast is too powerful," Ling Tian muttered, blood dripping from his wounds. "I need to escape. I will take care of you next time you mothe-."

'Fuc-'

In a desperate move, he activated the space-time cube, teleporting away just as the monkey's electrified claws swiped through the space he had occupied.

The teleportation carried him far from the battlefield, but the energy backlash from the rushed use left him disoriented and weak.

As the world came back into focus, Ling Tian found himself in a strange, ancient site.

Massive stone pillars, adorned with intricate runes, surrounded a central altar that pulsed with otherworldly energy.

The air was thick with the aura of profound power and ancient wildlands.

"What is this place?" Ling Tian wondered aloud, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "An inheritance site of a beast?"

He made a guess after feeling the wildness of the atmosphere.

Despite his injuries, curiosity and the urge to explore and get treasures to further his cultivation urged him forward.

He approached the central altar, feeling the energy grow stronger with each step.

As he reached out to touch the altar, the runes began to glow, and a deep voice echoed in his mind.

Despite his injuries, curiosity and the thrill of the unknown urged him forward.

"Hah, I learned nothing from my last life heh. That's how I died in my previous life as well."

He approached the central altar, feeling the energy grow stronger with each step.

As he reached out to touch the altar, the runes began to glow, and a deep voice echoed in his mind.

"Welcome, seeker of power. You have entered the trial of the Azure Dragon."

Ling Tian felt a surge of energy envelop him, and in an instant, he was teleported into a vast, ethereal realm.

The sky was a swirling tapestry of blues and whites, and beneath his feet was a crystalline platform, floating in an endless void.

Trial of Azure Dragon

A majestic figure materialized before him, its form shimmering with an ethereal blue light.

It was the Azure Dragon, its eyes glowing with ancient wisdom and immense power.

"To inherit my legacy," the Azure Dragon intoned, "you must prove your worth in three trials: Physique, Will, and Comprehension."

"Umm, can you give me some time to heal from my injuries?"

"..."

It was dead silent as if someone had died, but Ling Tian took it as the Azure Dragon's will agreed. He took out some healing pills that he created previously and started recuperating.

After some time passed as his injuries healed Ling Tian stood up and spoke, "Alright, I'm ready for the trial."

The Azure Dragon's voice boomed, "First, the Trial of Physique. Only the strong can carry my legacy."

The platform beneath Ling Tian shifted, transforming into a rugged terrain filled with harsh environments—blistering deserts, frigid tundras, and towering mountains.

The trial tested the limits of his body, forcing him to endure extreme conditions and overcome formidable obstacles.

Ling Tian's Heavenly Thunder Palm and Earthshaker Fist were put to the test as he battled against fierce elemental creatures, each strike needing precision and power to shatter their defenses.

"This trial is making me use my full abilities of qi and body cultivation."

His body was pushed to its limits, the pain nearly unbearable even for a reincarnated being like him, but he persevered, his will unyielding.

The trial was equal to his current cultivation base, so he had to handle multiple times the pressure of what normal cultivators will face as he was a dual cultivator.

After what felt like an eternity, the terrain shifted again, and Ling Tian found himself in a realm of darkness and illusion.

The Azure Dragon's voice echoed, "Now, the Trial of Will. Only those with a dao heart as strong as the heavens can wield my power."

Ling Tian looked at this with crazed thoughts as he spoke aloud.

"So this is an opportunity to surpass my past self and cultivate an unshakable dao heart."
