Mass Murder

Speechless, Avery could only watch as he turned away to continue his conversation over the phone. She didn't want to interrupt him again, as a form of respect and apology with the thought that he might be calling a work subordinate or partner, and she would hate to cause problems for him again just like she did with tearing the paper.

So, she simply stood aside and continued to eavesdrop on the call, the rate of her heartbeat spiking with each words Archie spoke.

"Did you get them?" he asked, and a small smirk started to tug at the corner of his lips at the reply he got. He added, "Let it have something to do with their allergies. And prepare an ambulance for instant resuscitation in case there's an emergency."

He listened for a few seconds more and hung up on the call, turning back to face Avery.

"You will forgive Valentina and her friends, right?"

"Actually no," Archie replied.
