Nina's mother was alive?
Impossible.
But that was what Finn was telling Penny.
"Penny, I barely calmed her down," Finn added after his brief yet precise summary of tonight's events. He glanced at the stairs to check if Nina had finished showering. After taking another breath, he refocused on the call.
"Did you find anything about it?"
"My men lost track of the suspicious woman who approached Nina," Penny replied with a heavy heart. "However, Finn, I don't think it's possible. She's dead."
"I know. That's what I told her." Finn ran his fingers through his hair again and sat down on the couch. "She also knew that. But… the woman seemed legit — that's what Nina said."
Another deep sigh escaped him as his jaw tightened, thinking of other possible reasons for this situation. There was a moment of silence on the line before Penny spoke again.
"You think it's part of his plan?" she wondered, stressing each word. "Jonathan."
