Don't tell me they dated before?

Theo's reaction upon laying eyes on Cassandra was suspicious. It wasn't the look of admiration a man would give to a woman as sophisticated as Cassandra. Rather, it was a look of surprise laced with fear. Patricia noticed that. Their relationship may have been strained for many years, but she knew her brother inside and out.

Something was not right.

"So, Brother Theo, would you tell me who that woman was?" Patricia's voice shattered the silence between them. "And stop playing with your food."

Theo flinched, snapping back to the present. "Huh?"

"I didn't want to pry, but if you're acting like that, I will." She frowned. "Who is she? An ex or something?"

"What? No!" He shook his head. "You don't know her, Patricia?"

"Why would I? Is she important?" — more important than her?

"Haha…" A weak laugh escaped him. "You're right. She's not important."
