A Plan To Save His Mother

Richard entered his house with his thoughts revolving around Barbara. He could not shake his jealousy and disagreement with her behaviour. How can a noble lady go to such a place? She seemed relaxed, as if not for the first time being there. He stopped and sighed. He would go to her and ask her about the reason for tomorrow.

"Where is my father?" He said, seeing George, the steward, descending the stairs, welcoming him.

"He was out for work," he replied politely.

"And mother?"

"She is in her bedchamber, resting."

Richard nodded and went upstairs, directly to his mother's room. He knocked and then walked in after getting the permission. He saw his mother sitting in her bed, knitting. Her frame seemed skinnier than before. When he stepped closer, she raised her face and looked at him, flashing the most beautiful smile. Despite the wrinkle on her face, her blue eyes shone with joy.

"Sit," she invited, patting the place beside her.
