Victor's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean by 'unusual people'?" he asked, his voice skeptical.
The man hesitated, glancing around nervously. "I don't know, sir. It was just a rumor. They were seen leaving town with a young woman who matched the description of the one we're looking for."
Victor's expression turned thoughtful. He didn't know what to make of the rumor, but he was determined to follow up on any lead.
"Tell me more about this group," he said, his voice firm.
The man shook his head. "I don't know anything else, sir. Just that they were seen leaving town in a hurry."
Victor's eyes narrowed. He didn't like the sound of this. He had a feeling that something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Keep searching," he said, his voice firm. "I want to know what happened to that woman and her companion."
As his men dispersed to continue their search, Victor couldn't shake the feeling that he was missing something. But he had no idea what.
