Chapter one.

A cold morning in Willow's town. The sun was still in the process of sending out his ray; like a mail's man slowly walking through the horizon, making sure his present was seen from each route it took.

The little birds were up in the sky, spreading their wings and soaring into the open air; heading for their destination, since it's the dawn of a new day. The light from the sun wasn't as much of a heat to the residence of the town, from how cold the climate was around here.

The inhabitants of the town make use of heat sources to curb the cold atmosphere mostly at night, adding to their civilization of being witches which further increases their survivability in the town.

The time still flew regardless; ticking its way along the clock. The inhabitants of the town were already up and moving. Carrying out their daily life activities. Shops were starting to open, the pedestrians were already moving across various streets, just to get to their destination.

.....

At a district in the town, which seems to be in the process of waking up into its usual array of activity. The houses around here were all built using one particular arrangement. An average looking houses with three to four rooms, a well developed porch and good front yard garden. The houses were strong and modest, even though the town seemed slightly out of shape in its setting and how the lives of everyone here was different compared to any other of the settlements.

At one of the houses, taking a view through the window into a warm and cozy room. A girl was sound asleep. The curtain rustled gently by the morning breeze slowly filling the room.

* ...Oh Araina.! * The voice of her mother rang very audibly from the living room, making its resonance at the girl's room where she was sleeping.

The morning at Araina's house was always the same process; where Teresa would wake her up daily before going to work. Though she would eventually wake up on her own, it was more like a shepherd; and how much they knew their sheep.!

* Araina... it's time to wake up now.! ! ! * Her mother sounds the alarm, ensuring that she could hear her from the subconsciousness of her sleeping state. The words resonate in her ears, sinking into her consciousness like a replica of her mother was standing very close to her. Causing the girl to jolt in response; with her eyes spanning wide awake.

At the living, her mother was all dressed and ready for the day. A full sleeve dress on flared jeans pant, brown wavy hair loosen behind her and a handbag. She stood beside the little stairway leading to the single room towards her daughter's room.

* I'm up mom.! * Responding from inside her room, it didn't take long for her to dash out of it. Running down the stairs with a sweet yet awkward smile on her face.

Seeing her daughter run down the stairs, made the woman reminisce over the roles of parenting to a child 'teenagers in particular'. Through each phase of growth they undergo. Her daughter running sheepishly down the stairs only made Teresa laugh, how much had her baby girl grown... she thought.

* Good morning... Mom. * She squeezed out an amicable smile, standing just at the second tread of the stairs barefoot. The girl looked none less than sixteen years old, standing before her mother in her night dress.

* Good morning dear... I know I've asked you not to go out irresponsibly! And spending time outside during the coldness of the weather... but, I can't help feeling regretful of what I'm about to say.! I mean the atmosphere gets cold as an iceberg and you're a teenager. Still young and very navied towards the outside world... what if you run into a bad... *

* Mom.! I would be okay... I've gone out before. * She said in a lopsided manner, placing both hands on the railing of the stairs. Being sure of her own inquisitive nature regardless of how much her mother had asked her about not venturing out into the cold and unsafe walls outside.

* Alright I would stop worrying for a bit. But... promise you will be fine! I can't believe I let you talk me into giving you an official consent into going out on... of all times.! * The worry in her tone wasn't restrained at all, knowing how different her daughter was when compared to the others.

* Now...now! I will be fine.! You go to work so long, and I love you mom.! * Placing a quick kiss on her mom's cheek who was already outside, she made a quick response to close the door before her mom would change her mind. When the girl felt the door being held mid way about to close.

* Ariana... get home early before the cold makes its presence. And yes... I love you too.! * Teresa finally breathed, knowing how much she couldn't shield her daughter all day long and would eventually let her go out into the open world.

It was a major question, she didn't want to ask how she could let her go out into a distance academy. When she wasn't even secure about her stepping out of the house into the neighborhood where they lived. Taking that into account, Teresa agreed to let her have one day of spending time in the town rather than being shut off away from the things she wanted to do. The latter conversation between mother and daughter was as a result of Araina's acceptance into one of the four great academies for tender witches in the continent.

Ever since the establishment of the four countries in the entire continent of mystical, the four great academies had stood strong, helping the four various countries to grow.

After all,' it was said that knowledge is key'.

These keys had been what had helped the continent to strive much into betterment. Enhancing the raw powers of countless witches and further allowing them into utilizing it into making proper changes with their lives. These changes became worldwide impactful, which made the concept of having all tender witches apply at an academy, where they could be trained and nurtured into shape very important all over the continent.

Araina watched her mother get into her vehicle and drove off towards work from the comfort of the house. Spanning on her heels - strutting back towards her room after deciding to get ready to face the day ahead of her. Since she had received an internship application to the academy a month ago; situated at the capital of Sparks, one of the four countries in continent.

Araina's choice of academy was from the much loved and hyped up legacy of the country of Sparks. One could say she had fallen in love with the country, despite living afar from Sparks; at an outskirts town neighboring other towns like itself, in a suburban area. She had the dream of seeing the entire country; from how she had heard of it all over the town, and her mother rarely goes outside Willow's town, causing her to be ignorant on the life outside at the capital. These further made her apply to the academy recruitment board. Hosted out every year, roping in students who had been given the academy's consent into coming into its four walls of learning.

Getting all dressed up, she carried a little purse placed over her shoulder, dressed up nicely to match the climatic condition of the town. She stepped out of the house while closing the doors and heading off to scale the town of Willow's one last time.
