The civilization of witches settling in willow's town were different, so different from other settlements which made them carefree and very distant. Life within the town was simply everyone keeping out of each other's business, since they didn't give as much as a damn who lives here and don't; outside the outskirts of Sparks.
Which made few notable people to relocate to a much better environment that's more welcoming and up standards.
One thing that spoke very loudly about the inhabitants of the town was how they had either severed ties with their family; or tried to hide their existence from being known like living alone from how secluded they lived. This strange lifestyle of the town made Araina to always question her mother as a child; from a young age, knowing about the concept of grandparents and cousins as well as 'a long family trees.' Back as a child she would ask her mother this question consecutively.
Sitting at a bench in the town's abandoned waterfall park, she laid her head at the headrest of the bench with her hair resting behind her. Staring at the open sky before her eyes, she looked into the far distance sun which had already set; giving off little warmth to the cold town. " How would it feel like out there in the capital? Where the sun is always up with plenty of new places to see! The academy...! " She soliloquize, falling into a daze of some kind while fantasizing of a very dreamy academy and beautiful city.
Looking at her one could say having a dream in a day time was very much possible! How she felt relaxed and calmly smiling to herself. Slowly she woke up from her daydream and surveyed the place like she was searching if anyone was around the park at this hour of day. The cold seems to have struck the town hard, with people rarely moving around; or rather no one had the time to visit the abandoned park! She noted this seating all alone in the empty waterfall park. Seeing that no one was around here, Araina stood up and headed towards the old fountain built here. One thing which made the park abandoned was the broken fountain at the middle; with everyone else not caring about what goes on in the town, no repairs were administered into fixing the fountain.
Seeing this as her last resolution, Araina decided to fix the fountain before leaving for the capital! Whenever she had visited this place with her mother, she had always tried to fix it with her powers though her mother had always restrained her; maybe today was different and she could finally do what she wanted.
Stepping towards the broken fountain, Araina looked around all over again wondering if anyone was around before pulling the glove off her hands and rolling her sleeves up towards her elbows.
Though there was no strict jurisdiction pertaining to the use of magic since it was a part of their life, still Araina was different. Much different than the rest; that her mother forbid her from using her powers outside her absence as it could be very detrimental to her.Taking that into account, she breathed in a deep breath. Before closing her eyes while trying to clear her mind from all distracting thoughts then she began saying a spell; though she was an amateur when it came to interpreting spells, still she tried to do it. Filled with enthusiasm while trying out an average fixing spell she had seen her mother utilize.
Slowly the open atmosphere around the fountain became musty; with a bit of dampness clogging the air, like a mini cloud of water was formed in the sky. Peeking through her lashes she saw the small amount of water once residing at the fountain previously, now levitating above in the air.
* Oh- no! I screwed things up badly...* Surveying the empty park with visible lines of worry all over her face. She Raised her hands upward, trying to redo what she previously did wrong. With worry clouding her mind, she said the spell all over again which unlike the first time; there was no movement from the water bubbles levitating in the air.
* Come on! Come on. Work already... Fix it and repair! Return to your previous stillness..* Araina said frantically thinking of the only spell that comes to mind with both hands above her head while wiggling her fingers in the air.
At that moment the water bubbles began to solidify. Integrating into an ice sphere oscillating in the air. * Oh- my.! It's... * She trailed off on her words seeing the ice spheres losing their levitation effect in the air and dropping down like a raining ice.
" Splat! Splat! Splat! Splat! Splat! Splat! Splat! "
* Seems like I made a mess of this place. * She looked around at the dried up fountain, eyes watery in regret of how she had ruined the fountain even further.
Shriek!
A low whimpering cry was made from within a shrub surrounded by tiny grass at the side of the fountain. From a colugo who was struck by a falling ice. Arriving towards it, Araina squatted lower toward the injured baby colugo and tried touching it.
* How! You seem hurt! * Stretching out her hand and touching the creature's head, she instantly felt the pain the creature was in.
* I'm sorry I did all this. I guess mom was right... I'm no good with my powers! * She lamented while petting the creature's head who relentlessly slumped into her arms. Standing up, she looked around the place one last time before heading out of the abandoned waterfall park.
******
At Araina's house. Right now she was holding the baby colugo in her hands while facing her mother who was scrutinizing her. The atmosphere at the house was heated and reprimanding; her mother gazes down at her with eyes burning hot, filled with questions.
* Ariana, what is that colugo doing in our home! And where did you find it? *
* Mother its... not how it seems. I was trying to fix something when an ice accidentally struck it from its natural inhabitants...it was a mistake I ...*
* Araina did you try using your powers again! We talked about this and you promised no use of spells and summons. I might revoke your license into attending the academy. *
* Mother I'm sorry... it won't happen again! * Dropping her head down while drowning in remorse.
* Oh my.. Araina you know you are different! What if the ice had struck someone and not the colugo? That could have been very endangering.* Teresa cautioned. Observing her daughter who was no more than sixteen, Teresa only heaved a sigh at the least she was fine. No harm happened to her which made Teresa calm while she did want to worry about how much she could carry on like this; with her knowing what her daughter's true condition was. Seeing her; how enthusiastic and always ready to try and see new things, Teresa was forced into consenting to let her go over to a distance academy with hopes that she could find her own path.
Stepping towards her daughter, Teresa touched the colugo 's head and she muttered a spell which caused her hands to glow slightly azure and she walked away from the living room into the kitchen. Looking at the creature now healed and nestling in her arms she started patting it on the back. * Poor thing! Soon you will be back home to meet your family.* Slowly touching his scarlet mixed with white fur while heading for her room. The rules governoring each country within the continent was set as a restraint to all witches inhabiting a country. These laws originally served as unbroken embodiment; regardless of how much power an individual has they can't overrule a country's jurisdiction, this same notion applies to Willow's town.
Despite the ethical shape of the town, the inhabitants of Willow's town could not live contrary to the rules enforced in Sparks.
Drawing contrary to the idea of witches being painted as dark and lawless fellows who sort after ways of making more hardship to the very lives of their own kind. These civilizations of witches have modernized their ways of living; being the only life form in this world and no other forces contend with control over them and they lived their lives in peace even if it wasn't too peaceful.
