A final question

She immediately held her breath without realizing it, while staring at the dragon before her, its long slender body, snaking across the air, it's long dark and gold hair, floating in front of her, she couldn't believe what she was seeing at the time.

The dragon got closer to her and her eyes widened even more as it took amusement to her surprised look, its body was gold and black, mixed with red and its eyes were bright and piercing, gold and red.

The dragon chuckled at the look on her face, knowing she was not expecting that and she slapped her face, wondering if she was dreaming and the creature's loud chuckle, crackled across the air, making her realize she was not dreaming.

"Do not hit yourself again, I am real, I am an ancient dragon, we are beings whose existence humans hardly understand and may be beyond some's understanding but I know you understand, you take delight in discovering since you were a child Ophelia, I am Zinon," He said and she took a deep breath then looked at him.

"I understand... Though it's still more than I could have expected... But why? Why are you here with me? I don't understand that," She replied.

"I know you have many questions but right now you are running out of time and I cannot answer them all not yet at least, have you noticed that you are no longer alive?" He asked and her eyes widened.

She turned around and saw her body, laying there lifeless and the spear that was within her had completely turned to ashes.

"Then how am I..." She muttered.

"The you I am talking to now and standing before me is your soul, but your time is running out and I need you to answer me before your soul start to dissipate, I need you to answer me in order for me to keep your soul balance and send you back into the process of life... If you don't your soul with shatter, do you understand me?" He asked.

She looked at him, she partially understood what he was saying and she nodded.

"Good, now tell me.... Do you hold revenge in even just a slightest part of that heart that I knew to be the purest?" He asked and she lowered her gaze as she thought about his question and how she was used and constantly betrayed, by even her own blood.

She clenched her chest tightly and closed her eyes as he looked at her closely, for he could feel every fiber of her being but had to hear her answers, in order to continue the process she was thrown in.

"Yeah....I think I do want to make all those who put me where I am today, pay for it..." She said and the dragon closed his eyes, looking a bit pleased at her answer.

"What more do you want Ophelia? Talk your heart out right here and right now, I will listen," He said and her eyes shimmered a bit as she looked up at him and his eyes narrowed, knowing she had many desires and a longing for the taste of a bit of freedom as well, something she knew nothing about.

She clenched her chest as she thought about all the bad things she had to put up with, never once tasting freedom, never once being able to have any proper relationship, much less a friend.

She remembered when she got blinded, thinking it was just an accident when in reality, it was purposefully done and they made sure her treatment was tampered with so that she could lose her sight for good, which was what indeed happened, making it unable to see the outside world again, taking everything from her, making her more helpless.

The more she thought about the things that happened to her and all of the things she wanted to do, the more pain she felt and her heart longed for many things including even a tiny bit of affection, something she knew nothing of.

She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists as she was lost in her thoughts and the dragon looked down at her keenly, sensing the turmoil within her soul, searching for release and his eyes narrowed as he circled in the air above her and the way her soul began riling up, completely to his surprise, for that has never quite happened before and it intrigued him.

Her soul began glowing slightly as it was starting to dissipate into small balls of light and his eyes narrowed, she was running out of time to join the cycle and he got closer to her.

"Ophelia, tell me now... You are running out of time and at a fast rate, I may be powerful but this is the cycle of life, I can't hold your soul together for much longer but I can do something else and manipulate the cycle so talk," He said.

She looked at herself and saw it was true, she was losing time and would disappear into nothing and if she didn't want that, she had to hurry up.

"You said you know what's in my heart, then, I want all of it, everything that was taken from me, that I have a right on, I want it all back, I want to have a shot, I don't want to disappear and become nothing and let them be satisfied," She said with many emotions swirling within her eyes and he could see it clearly.

"Is that so? I hear you then if you were given another chance what would you do?" He asked.

"Live the life that was taken from me, fight for what I believe and not be walked upon again, I will do all which I was supposed to and live a life worth remembering," She responded.

"Final question, do you want a second chance at life?" He asked.

"Yes," She responded with an unwavering gaze and his eyes glowed brightly.

"If that is what you wish then so be it, one final chance you shall be granted," He said as she was dissipating at a faster rate and lightning flashed around the open space they were in as his eyes glowed brightly as he loomed over her.
