Thirteen

The next morning Natzin was up early in the morning on the balcony drinking tea and enjoying the early morning as she reprised the happenings of the previous night.

She was very glad about seeing Jie, watching him struggle to keep his composure made her feel more comfortable. His squirming was not obvious to people around but to her it had been very obvious and she had caught him glancing in her direction several times throughout the course of the evening.

She was disappointed that she did not see Bing through, she wondered why her relationship with Jie seemed to have soured. They had seemed chummy enough when she had overheard them that fateful day in Bing's apartment.

However, that did not change anything. She was intent on giving her former best friend a very unpleasant surprise.

She put on a robe and went out of her room to the room beside her and opened the curtains wide.

"Wakes wakes." She said in a bright voice and the form on the bed groaned.

She came to the bedside and propped him on the pillows and rang a bell on the bedside.

"How do you feel?" She asked tenderly.

"Like I should not be attending parties late at night." Zheng Xu grunted and Natzin chuckled.

"Well, I told you that I could go on my own." She said.

"There was no way that I was going to allow you go in there without reinforcements. I gotta say, you did me very proud looking so calm and unaffected the entire time." He praised her and she rubbed his hand affectionately.

"So what are you going to do today?" He asked.

"Well I have that meeting and you will not be coming along with me." She frowned and he nodded reluctantly.

The door opened and a robust woman came in pushing a trolley.

"Good morning." She greeted them cheerily.

"Good morning Mrs Yen." Natzin greeted while Mr Xu just grunted.

"I brought you breakfast and your pills." Mrs Yen said to Mr Xu and he scowled in displeasure. "When we are done Mr Yen will come and help get you cleaned up and then you can go out to the garden."

"Natzin, are you sure you won't need some help at the meeting?" He asked hopefully.

"… oh no you don't. You went out last night despite my warnings and now you look so weak." Mrs Yen interrupted and Natzin chuckled good naturedly and helped Mr Xu into his wheelchair and together they sat at the table and had breakfast.

When she was done eating she got up and kissed Mr Xu affectionately on his head and pointed a warning finger at him.

"You have to be good for Mrs Yen or she will not go lightly on you, I will be back as soon as I can." She said and then she left the room.

After a year of living in Maiden Groove City, Natzin had reached out to the Yen's who had believed all this time that she was dead. She had stayed in touch with the couple after that time and when she came back, she had employed them as live in caretakers of her husband. She never forgot their kindness to her and they felt like family.

When she got to her room there was someone in her walk in closet and out they came holding out clothes and a pair of shoes.

"Today, you have to look killer and there is nothing better than this lavender power suit." He said.

She frowned, "No Yujin. That looks like it belongs to a grandma and that is not the image I am trying to project." She said as she crinkled her nose in disgust.

He rolled his eyes and returned to the closet and came in with a fuchsia pink skirt suit and her eyes lit up with delight.

"Great, you like it." He said with an exaggerated sigh before pushing her towards the bathroom. "Now hurry up and go get ready or else we are going to be late.

Natzin poked a head out and looked at Yujin with a mischievous smile. "Would that be so bad? I think that I would like them to squirm and wait a little bit to see me."

Yujin shook his head and walked out of the room leaving her alone to get ready. When she was done she went out to the garden.

There was a moment of silence from everyone then Yujin said, "Wooow!"

"You look fantastic." Mrs Yen praised as Natzin twirled around and showed off her outfit.

"I am sure that you are going to give them hell!" Mr Xu said proudly, "are you sure that I can't come with you." He whined and Mrs Yen's eyes narrowed dangerously.

"No, you can't come but I will make you proud and tell you all about it when I get back." She said and kissed his cheek before walking to the car parked out front and followed closely behind by Yujin.

When they got to their destination, the manager came out of greet her and led her to the private room that had been kept for her.

"Your guests are waiting for you inside." He said and bowed before leaving them.

Natzin took a deep breath and braced for what was to come and stepped into the room and looked around for an empty seat. Yujin pulled out the seat at the head of the table and she sat in it and the guests who were irritated from sitting in the room waiting for an unknown person for close to an hour at up and stared at her in annoyance as they did not recognize who she was.

"Listen young lady, it seems that you have stumbled in the wrong room. You should run along now as we are waiting for an important person." One of them said dismissively.

"Oh really?" Natzin said and stood up. "I guess I will just have to leave but maybe I will call the police instead and then they can have you arrested for fraud Mr Zhao."
