Sixteen

Jie had made excuses and left An mei sitting at their table to go to the restroom when she turned and caught a glimpse of that wretched woman Natzin from the previous night walking out of the restaurant.

An Mei watched as the people who had accompanied her walked in different directions, leaving her all alone and an idea started to brew in her little head, making her smile impishly.

After being ignored at the gala the previous night, Jie had not even taken her home. He had ordered a driver to take her to her apartment, leaving her frustrated and angry because she could not carry out her plans and she had put the blame solely on Natzin's feet, she had noticed how Jie kept stealing glances at her.

Thankfully she still had a chance to try to get Jie in her clutches thanks to the clause of the contract to pose as Jie's date for the previous night which meant that he was supposed to go out on a date with her so that some paparazzi could take pictures of them and further play up the idea that they were in a relationship.

An Mei had chosen this upscale restaurant and had hoped to use one of the private rooms where she could flirt with him but Jie had chosen a table in the public section and had been acting like a gentleman even though he was very cold and distant to her.

She had been frustrated but refused to give up because she was used to getting what she wanted and what she wanted was Jie. Frustrated at his lack of effort she wondered why he did not find her attractive when she saw Natzin.

It was at that point that she decided that Natzin would have to suffer for the neglect so she hurriedly picked up her drink and went out wwhere she stood waiting and tapped her shoulder.

When Natzin turned around, An mei smiled deviously and poured the drink over her head before pushing the glass into Natzin's hands and started screaming.

The scream drew people's attention and they turned to look while An mei stamped her feet in frustration and wiped the wine off her face as Natzin looked carelessly at her, the side of her lip curled in amusement.

"I was only trying to be polite to you, why would you pour your drink on me?" An Mei screamed in indignation.

More people crowded around them as they tried to understand what was going on and Natzin continued to watch.

"I don't understand why you would be upset because I am with Jie, are you not a married woman? I know that your husband is old and crippled but if you have chosen to have money instead of love then how is it my fault?" An Mei continued, watching from the side of her eyes as people's faces went from curiousity to disgust and they started to whisper.

"Can you imagine a young girl like her is married to an old sugar daddy and she still won't leave young men alone?"

"She has no shame, she is coming to fight someone over her boyfriend when she already has a husband."

"I hate disgusting young girls who have no sense of morals.

There was some commotion in the crowd as Jie shouldered through people until he came beside Natzin and An mei, he looked at both women in confusion and noticed that An Mei's hair was dripping.

"What happened?" He demanded and An mei turned to him in tears.

"I saw this lady and I recognized her from the gala so I came out to say hello to her, but when I told her that I was here with you she insulted me and told me that you wanted her and you would never chose me then she poured her drink on me."

Jie frowned and turned to look at Natzin who looked unconcerned by An mei's words.

"Is this true?" He demanded and she sighed and twirled the stem of the glass in her fingers and looked him straight in the eye.

"If I told you that it was untrue who would you believe, me or your girlfriend?" She asked nonchalantly.

"Why would i just attack her like that? Look at how she is even shamelessly playing with the empty glass." An Mei pointed out and the people around murmured in agreement.

"I don't want you to think that because my company and your husband's company are collaborating you can do anything you want without any consequences." Jie said coldly then demanded, "now I want you to apologize to An mei right now!"

Natzin pinned him with her eyes and asked, "you want me to apologize?"

"Boss." The bodyguards who had gone to get the car pushed through the crowd, intending to rescue Natzin and take her away but she raised a hand and halted them then she beckoned to Yujin who pushed through the crowd and came to her side then she whispered into his ears.

He nodded and disappeared through the crowd while Jie stared angrily at her and clenched his jaw.

"Are you going to apologize or not?"

"Of course I will since you have asked me to, just give me a minute." She said.

An Mei hid her smile of triumph. She had succeeded in humiliating this proud woman and by making Jie dislike her, the irritation in his eyes made her want to jubilate.

Yujin came back to Natzin's side and before anyone could realize what she was about to do she poured a glass of cocktail on An Mei's head and she sputtered and jumped back angrily.

Natzin looked at her with a smug smile, "Now I am sorry that I poured a drink on your head, maybe next time you will have the good sense to stay away from me."

Without looking at him, Natzin pressed the two glasses into Jie's hands and with the help of her guards walked through the crowd while Yujin followed behind her and An Mei cried in frustration.

"Did you just see what she did?!"
