Chapter 17: Quest Update

Valmus surprisingly didn't die, well he did but don't stress the details too much.

The blood of the Man crushed him entirely turning him into a meat paste finely minced and flattened.

The blood then oozed into his entire being mind you while his elevation of state was still going on.

He could feel it, despite his horrid state he could feel everything at an intimate level. He could feel how the blood seeped into his bones and marrow, how it reforged his tendons and blood vessels, his internals and flesh.

How his skin came to be and how his brain was restored and encased in a skull with streaks of gold allover it.

He felt the first beat of his heart that sounded like the thrumming of a war drum.

He stood to his full height which was now a little bit over seven feet tall, his back was wide and his shoulders broad, his muscles were thick as they pulsed with power.

He finally felt free to breathe like he had been holding onto his breathe for as long as he could remember.

"There were done, now leave. I'll see you when the pillar falls." The man waved him away as he dissolved into the darkness and Valmus was swallowed by it moved back to where he came from.

He appeared before the Black Dragon and the Chimera who were seriously talking about something that was until he appeared.

The dragon suddenly tensed as his wings stretched out, he was ready to breathe out a ball of destructive flames when the Chimera blocked his view.

"Hmm, it would seem you've gained a massive boon." The chimera smiled.

"Yes indeed, now i only want to test my abilities. When does this pillar fall again?" He asked as his battle intent grew suffocating he truly wanted to let loose.

"Now, we were only waiting for you." The chimera replied as he walked towards the pillar and took out a small unamusing stone. He placed it beneath the tower and stepped back, he then turned to Valmus and said

"One attack, your strongest one whatever it may be fire it at the stone. I will fo the same, once your done hide behind Vrag." He explained somberly.

Valmus nodded in affirmation knowing full well that the chimera was being serious.

"Do any of you have a sword?" He asked, to which the black dragon tapped the forward forcing the air before Valmus to part. Before him was a black sword, it looked like any typical sword with its only difference being it's black blade and handle. It also had a set of runed that were etched at the center of the blade.

"As you know us beasts cannot use weapons, we usually carry them for ornamental purposes. This one here was forged from the bones of an Ancestral dragon." The Black dragon explained his face betraying no flashood or emotion for that matter.

"I see, I'll use it well." Valmus replied as he swung down the blade, his eyes closed as if he were searching for something.

He aura changed with every swing, from the normal swing, his sword gained an unpredicted sharpness that could both cut and pierece.

He locked onto the said sharpness and focused on it refining it over and over, in just fifty swings his sword aura spiked and became something only seasoned veteran could have.

As he fell into a stance he couldn't help but wonder how long it had been since he held a sword. Now that it was within his grasp he could feel it even more intensely.

His eyes opened as his whole aura sharpened, he swung downwards with skillful precision as a dome of sword aura descended upon the unamusing stone.

The stone trembled as it glowed with a silvery hue absorbing all of his aura as it begun to multiply it. The Chimera was not left behind as he also released a chaotic breathe of elements from its maws boosted bu its own essence.

The stone greadily absorbed it all adding a confluence of color to its once blank canvas. The black dragon seemingly not wanting to be left out also let out a breathe of destruction it's main element.

The stone swallowed it whole and was filled to the brin but, it continued to multiply the devastating attacks within it's self almost infinitely.

As the power within continuously increased so too did Valmus' danger signs, he could feel it in his bones that what was about to happen would be catastrophic.

He hid behind the black dragon, he didn't dare to test out his current durability in this manner, and as he waited for the incoming explosion he had half the mind to check his system logs.

Valmus sighed unsure of how to process the information, should he be angered by the steep increase in difficulty or confused by why the system wouod want him to ensure M''ioeri's safety.

'I'll cross that bridge when I get there.' He silently vowed as he watched the stone which had been the size of a pebble was now fhe size of a towering boulder.

It cracked silently before drowing the word in a cacophony of elements and sword aura.

The pillar trembled as cracks run from the bottom to the top of it's structure. The pillar begun to fall like meteors, chunks of its stones and metal fell. It's runic engraving broken and unstable.

Valmus watched on as the trumpets of war were blown, for he could see dazzling beings of gold descending with the fall of the pillar.
