Chapter 27: The Pit

[Welcome all fighters and betters to the greatest pit in Town, THE PIT OF FISTS!!!!  ] the commentator psyched the crowd who bursts into cheers

[ Now, now hold your money where you mouth is coz you'll all be sure to drop it all!!! ]

The crowd roared as they awaited the fights of the pit which were always bloody

[As always the pit will set a Bonus thriller Requirement for the fighters, for today however the Devs have surely been too sinister ]

the man chuckled before revealing

[ For today the Bonus Cash price reward is simple.... Be last man standing without bleeding, by bleeding I mean not a single drop of blood should fall from your body.]

OOOHHHHH

The crowd grew wild as their cheers threatened to leak into the city above

The pit was a Fighting game which most gangs would partake in, some would use it to whetstone their members while others to work off talented fighters

' This place is as crazy as always,' Sam sighed as he finished paying the fighting Fee, he then walked towards the betting arena and dumped his remaining Eighty thousand to his fights.

In last man standing the bets were rather interesting... for the players that is.

Each fighter would have varying odds based on their popularity and such as most fighters were veterans in the pit.

Your initial bet will be your main source of income while every fight you win would be an added percentage like an incentive to keep you fighting. Once you win all your earning are compiled and the Pit takes 1% of your total earnings be it the losing or winning fighter.

The man at the betting arena stared at Sam with sympathetic eyes as his bet was one of the toughest but also the most rewarding

{ Undefeated Bet}

This was a bet where the Fighter bets their money to stay undefeated from the moment they enter the ring until they exit.

Sam left the betting arena and joined the stands, he would observe the fights and think of the best way to bag his bet and the bonus reward.

' I will enter in the fourth round...it seems all newbie fighters are placed within the lower ranks to weed them out,' he chuckled internally ' Too bad they just gave me an easier path to earn more.'

The commentator announced the first fight which was between a man and a woman, a mixed match to be precise

To Sam the fight was simply sad as he could see hundreds of ways to take down his opponents, he however did not let it get to his head as he knew from experience even the most docile of cats can still make a man bleed.

The second round started as the winner of the first round, the woman, faced of another man. He was too fast for her and she lost the match her unconscious body dragged out the stage.

The third round was the typical strength vs speed as the six foot giant knocked out the speedy fighter

The Fourth round finally begin with Sam finally entering the ring, the crowds cheers had surprisingly not diminished but had actually increased.

" Another skinny fighter ehh? Ohh well an easy win for me," the tall man laughed as he took a boxing stance, his eyes fixed on Sam.

For the Pit as long as you entered the fight has already begun, the man lunged forward, his steps heavy as all his muscles tensed while he delivered a jab.

Sam ducked beneath the man's assault as swiftly struck the back of his neck with his palm rendering him unconscious

The crowd fell silent before bursting into a much elated cheer, the commentator taking advantage of the mood swiftly nicknamed Sam 'The one hitter' trying to build a false reputation inorder to maximize his gains.

Another fight begin each ending in a single hit , be that fast, strong, tenacious or resilient. Sam for the most part was disinterested as he was itching to demand for all the fighters to come at him at once.

He however reigned himself and continued his one hit spree down until he reached the fourtieth round.

This was where things got ugly as the last ten fights were handled by the top fighters and boy had Sam attracted quote afew who each wanted a piece of the one hitter'

In one of the Tinted booths a man in an all black Suit sat while puffing a Cigar,he seemed rather cozy and elated as he smirked looking at the next fight

"Mr Rogers do you really want to enter the arena, quite frankly we don't think we can pay you for the trouble," a woman in a red side slit dress advised, she was the owner of the pit and did not find it amusing for a gang Lord to participate in the fights.

Gang Lord's tended to be detrimental to business, they were too vengeful and had childish pride which was not condusive for her arena and such she tended to drive them away.

Rogers however was not a small fry she could kick out as it could have major drawbacks.

" Don't worry about that....I just found an interesting playmate, it's been awhile since I've last stretched...and besides, why would I want your nuts worth of warning, please don't belittle me Madame Alexis," he stated his voice overbearing.

She sighed as she rubbed her temples, she then looked at the match with furrowed brows, ' all this ais your darn fault!' she cursed looking at the black haired man in the arena.

' But who is he anyways, Rogers usually fights Peak humans or initial Inhumans as he himself is in the later stages of Initial Inhuman,' Alexis pondered before stinking at a crucial point clearly evident from the start of the match.

' He one hit nearly all the fighters from the fourth round down until the fourtieth, that means he clearly has superior strengths and speed that can imply that he's on his way towards peak Human, that backed with his clear evident martial prowess and we have a fighter than can challenge people above their thresholds....should I poach him? It's clearly beneficial if I do, I mean the guy has already piqued the interest of a veteran Inhuman fighter," she mused as she begun to plot on how to leverage the one hitter to join her ranks.

But her plans were quickly doused by Rogers voice which held no room for discussion or negotiations

" Don't think of touching or prying into the boy Alexis, I won't have you turn him into another one of your toys understood?!" he declared not expecting an answer but still satisfied with the silence.
