Aura refining was a process of compressing the already formed aura into a more pristine form, a form more intricate form that personifies their understanding.

Valmus' understanding of aura and himself was by no means shallow, but a persons growth of self is never complete, people grow day by day, same for him.

In earth however personal strength could only get you so far, the biggest fist never truly meant being the most powerful, power on earth came in varying forms, be it Economic, Social or Political.
